As part of their unique “festival within a festival” concept, Chicago Ale Fest has five mini-festival experiences, including Cider Alley, Lager Lane and West vs. East Coast IPAs. The beers are also accompanied by live music, games and food trucks. If you’re a morning bird, there’s even a pre-event fitness and yoga gathering the morning of. Want to see lions, tigers and bears, oh my, while sipping on craft brews? This adults-only after-hours event at the Lincoln Park Zoo includes a selection of over 150 craft beers. The fifth-anniversary run of Craft Brews at the Zoo has stations spread across the zoo’s gardens. Alongside zoo animals and tasty beer, there will be DJ entertainment, lawn games and food. Wheeling’s own Craft Beer & Wine Festival offers the best deal yet: unlimited two-ounce samples of beer, wine and cider. Over 60 seasonal beers will be available for tasting, and the festival gives you the opportunity the chat up the brewery’s gurus face-to-face. Your beer-tasting experience will be accompanied by live music and food offerings at Heritage Park Pavilion. The park is right next door to ONE, so there’s no need to worry about a designated driver.
